The San Isidro fair in Estepona is already here.
The festivities run from May 9 to 15.
But before that, on Sunday May 5, it’s time for the popular pilgrimage. On the morning of Sunday May 5, pilgrims from Estepona will begin their pilgrimage to the patron saint’s hermitage.
At 8 a.m., from the parish church of San José, the image of San Isidro will be accompanied by floats and numerous horsemen, who will make the floral offering to the saint on his arrival at the hermitage.
At midday, the traditional Angelus will be prayed on the way to the hermitage.
The ringing of the bells will herald the arrival of the pilgrim procession at the hermitage, where the riders of the “Amigos del Caballo” association will make a floral offering to the patron saint of Estepona and his holy wife.
At 6 p.m., the pilgrims’ mass will take place in the chapel of San Isidro Labrador, presided over by the Reverend D. José Javier García Pascual, spiritual director of the brotherhood and parish priest of San José.
From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Centre Dolménique de Corominas organizes an open day.
From 12:00 to 17:00, free guided tours of the center will be offered.
From 1 p.m., next to the dance floor, where a musical and festive atmosphere will reign, the bar will be open and offering popular prizes.
At 9 p.m., there will be a prayer of thanksgiving at San Isidro Labrador and Santa María de la Cabeza for the day, with the songs and praises of the pilgrim brothers and sisters as the finishing touch. Within the fair grounds, there will be an inauguration ceremony and a parade of authorities, queens and ladies-in-waiting, accompanied by the Estepona Municipal Band.
Then, in the official San Isidro Labrbador stand, the official presidential ball will be held.
11:30 p.m.: Entertainment music “Dj”: From this time onwards, the official San Isidro Labrador stand will feature entertainment music.
Attractions will benefit from a 50% discount. May 10 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Exhibition and demonstration of plasterwork.
We’ll be able to see the skill and mastery with which esparto faggots are braided, transforming them into pleitas, which are then used to make baskets, baskets, capachas and other objects.

11:00 am: Floral tribute to the patron saint.
