The new path, which will link Veramar, Bermeja Beach and El Cristo, will be 351 meters long and cost 403,199 euros (including VAT).
The project to link the entire coastline is 90% complete, which means that almost 20 kilometers of coastline will be linked by these paths.
Estepona town council has launched a call for tenders for the construction of a new section of the coastal corridor that will link the beaches of Veramar and Bermeja to El Cristo, thus providing an uninterrupted route from the Guadalobón area to El Saladillo.
Ana Velasco, Deputy Mayor in charge of Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT), indicated that the future path will be 351 meters long and 3 meters wide.
As for the paved path, printed concrete imitating natural stone and wooden terraces on structures of the same material will be used.
The project will include the creation of several landscaped areas around the section to be completed.
The work, for which the basic tender budget is 403,199 euros (incl. VAT), is financed by the EU-funded Next Generation EU recovery, transformation and resilience plan.
The works will have a maximum execution time of 12 weeks, once they have started.
Interested companies can submit their bids via the electronic headquarters until April 11 at 2:00 pm.
The municipal official stressed the importance of this infrastructure for the city, as it represents a meeting point between the environment, sport, tourism and sustainable leisure.
The Coastal Corridor also has an impact on the quality of life of local residents, who can enjoy walks along almost 20 kilometers of natural spaces that, until now, have remained isolated and inaccessible to the public.
The deputy mayor of the FIT zone pointed out that the coastal corridor project in Estepona is already well advanced and 90% completed, which means that there are almost 20 kilometers of coastline linked by these pedestrian paths.
The Villacana-Playa del Sol section, which will link up with the existing Arroyo Taraje section and the planned Punta del Saladillo section, is also in the tendering phase.
Specifically, the Town Hall will shortly be undertaking construction work on another section of the coastal corridor at Dominion Beach, which will be 350 metres long.
This work is currently being awarded.
In addition, the Council has already received authorization to build other sections.
One of these is located in the western part of the city and will link the section built on the Guadalobón stream to the Arena Beach project.
The other involves the construction of a 559-metre path linking Las Dunas Matas Verdes to the Punta de Baños and El Saladillo sectors.
