The Town Hall of Estepona recognized this Tuesday as “Tourist of Honor” the sports director Joxean Fernández, “Matxín”, within the activities organized for the celebration of Tourism Day, which takes place throughout this week . By this act, the Consistory thanks the framework of the cycling team for having chosen the city as their place of residence for a good part of the year.
From the government team, we appreciate that ‘Matxín’ is one of the reference names in cycling in our country and we appreciate that, as general manager of UAE Team Emirates, he collaborated last year to become the team winner of the Tour de France.
The municipal tourism manager, Ana Velasco, pointed out that Joxean Fernández “Matxín” is “passionate about Estepona” and that he does a “magnificent job” of making it known “whenever he can”, reason for which she considers that the recognition as “Tourist of Honor” is “more than deserved”.
On the other hand, throughout this week the city will celebrate the “Day of the Tourist”, with raffles and discounts to publicize the wide range of cultural and leisure activities offered to visitors.
Until next Friday, August 13, the Municipal Delegation of Tourism is organizing raffles on its Facebook page “Estepona Turismo”. Every day the prizes to be drawn will be announced and to participate it is enough to be a follower on the social network of the “Estepona Turismo” page and of the local businesses offering the prizes of each draw, mentioning two friends in the same contest message.
Likewise, companies dedicated to leisure and entertainment will offer discounts throughout the day on Friday August 13, subject to prior reservation. The collaborating companies are:
Freedom Kite: 15% on paddlesurf, kayak and surf rental – 10% on kitesurf, paddlesurf and surf lessons.
Marbella rental point: 15% discount on jet ski rental at the Puerto Deportivo point.
Paintball Estepona: 50% reduction on the entry price.
Water parks: 20% discount on online ticket purchase – voucher code DIATURESTEPONA
South Coast Aventuras: 50% discount on Guadalmina canyoning, minimum 2 people
South Olé: 10% discount on their products
Velero Intrepido: 10% discount on all products
Costa Bike: 20% off everything
Ecoandbike: 50% reduction on rentals for 2 people
Atalaya Golf: 35% reduction on the price of the public green fee at Atalaya Old
El Campanario: 50% discount on entrance to the gym and swimming pool
El Paraíso: 25% reduction on the price of green fees
Botanical Park-Orchidarium: 2 entries for 1
To obtain these discounts, tourists must be followers of the “Estepona Turismo” pages and the collaborating company that offers them, or make a publication on their networks with the hashtag #DiaTuristaEstepona2021 tagging the company.
