Estepona City Council has launched a new campaign to support local businesses and encourage citizens to shop at local businesses and consume in their establishments, according to Commerce Councillor Cristina Cintrano on Wednesday.
The city official explained that starting this week, posters will be distributed in different areas of the city with the campaign, which has the slogan “Our stores, our hospitality, our businesses”.
Together, we make a better Estepona”.
The initiative aims to raise public awareness of the importance of supporting our commercial fabric, as this helps to boost the economy and maintain and create local jobs.
In this respect, he also stressed that small and medium-sized businesses help to enliven the city as they keep town centers, neighborhoods and residential areas alive, while referring to the local, personalized and professional treatment that local businesses offer their customers.
She also announced that, in parallel with this initiative, campaigns to promote local commerce will be run in the municipal media.
In this way, according to the Councillor, the Consistory is once again supporting this type of measure, which has always had very good results, to help and contribute to the development of local businesses.
She also highlighted the great expansion of industrial and commercial activity in Estepona in recent years, which has resulted in the opening of a number of different new businesses offering a wide range of products and services.
In addition, Cristina Cintrano referred to other stimulus measures promoted by the Town Hall in favor of the local commercial fabric, such as the abolition since 2012 of the opening tax for a total of 35 commercial activities classified as harmless, while for the rest of the activities, a 75% discount is offered on the cost of the business opening license fee for groups in a more vulnerable situation.
