The project is almost 90% complete, with 19 kilometers connected by seaside pedestrian paths.
The town hall of Estepona has obtained authorization from the regional government of Andalusia to build four new sections of the coastal corridor (the Senda Litoral). These will be the sections of Dominion Beach-Bahía El Velerín, Villacana-Arroyo Taraje, Las Dunas/Matas Verdes-Punta Baños/El Saladillo and Arroyo Guadalobón-Arena Beach.
The deputy mayor in charge of development, infrastructure and tourism (FIT), Ana Velasco, informed that the works will cover three sections to the east of the city and one section to the west.
The eastern section will stretch from the Dominion Beach development to Bahía El Velerín. This is a 370 meter path that was originally dirt and will now be completed in line with the rest of the adjoining sections.
In the same area, another section of 385 meters will be built to connect the Villacana housing estate to the section already built in Arroyo Taraje; and another section of 559 meters will connect Las Dunas Matas Verdes to the sectors of Punta de Baños and El Saladillo.
In the western part of the city, the town hall will work on 534 meters to connect the section of the Guadalobón stream to the Arena Beach development.
The deputy mayor pointed out that the coastal path of Estepona is almost 90% complete, with 19 kilometers of coastline connected by these pedestrian paths.
