Foodies take note: the municipality of Estepona is organizing the 11th Ruta de la Tapa to showcase the city’s gastronomy. The councilor responsible for culture and festivities, Macarena Diánez, explained that this event will support the local restaurant sector, which has also become one of the main tourist attractions of the municipality.
“Estepona has shown that it has a rich gastronomy, because here we can taste a myriad of culinary styles and dishes made with top quality products,” the councilor said.
In order to highlight the cuisine of the various bars and restaurants, the Consistory is once again organizing this activity in which, for three days, customers will be offered tapas and drinks at reduced prices. In addition to tasting the excellence of the local gastronomy, participants will be able to decide which is the best tapa of this year’s edition.
He also specified that to do this, they will have to have a minimum of five stamps from different establishments affixed in the passport that will be distributed on this occasion. These leaflets will also be distributed at the Tourist Office and at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
The company whose tapa has been rated the best by users will receive a prize of 1,000 euros and a recognition plaque. In addition, the Consistory will organize several draws among the participants who will vote during this activity.
Companies wishing to participate in the 11th Ruta de la Tapa can register from today until March 1st. The registration form is available at www.estepona.es and can be delivered to the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, the town hall says in a press release.
Mr. Diánez indicated that the Ruta de la Tapa will again be one of the most important events of the activity “Estepona vive sus calles 2022” (Estepona lives its streets 2022).
