Estepona Town Hall will be holding a party for residents next Friday, March 31, to mark the inauguration of the new Mirador del Carmen socio-cultural building and the redevelopment of Avenida de España, a day that will include a drone and fireworks show, as well as musical performances by Raya Real and Longplay, as reported by the Consistory on Monday.
The inauguration will take place at 8 p.m. at the European Union traffic circle.
In addition, a solidarity bar will be set up, run by the Confrérie de Nuestra Señora del Carmen Coronada-Sainte Patronne d’Estepona.
The Mirador del Carmen tower will be open to visitors free of charge from Saturday April 1, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
It should be remembered that this new facility is the culmination of the great urban transformation that Estepona has undergone over the last twelve years, as well as a great projection for the municipality, they stressed.
The Mirador del Carmen will house a large library and study areas, a music conservatory, an auditorium for cultural events, an appropriate exhibition hall and a watchtower, which will undoubtedly become another major attraction for visitors and a great space for all residents to enjoy.
Configured as a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean, from which to enjoy breathtaking views and the marine essence of the city, these facilities will house a selection of fifty works from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection, signifying for Estepona a valuable quality leap in cultural, artistic and tourist offerings.
Along with the Mirador del Carmen, the redesigned Avenida España between Avenida Juan Carlos I and Calle Delfín, and its extension to the new socio-cultural building, will also be open to the public.
The remodelling of the promenade running parallel to these two sections has also been completed.
This pedestrian boulevard opens up the city to the sea and is an extension of the “Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol” project.
