The sale is part of a plan to pay suppliers.
Interested parties have until May 26 to submit their offers.
Estepona Town Hall has just activated the public auction of several premises and parking spaces that until now served as the municipal headquarters in the Puertosol building, located in Calle Puerto, 2.
This move is justified by the city’s commitment to constructing a new municipal building in which to unify all its delegations and outbuildings, and reduce maintenance costs.
According to the parameters defined in the sales procedure, published on Tuesday on the public procurement platform, the assets for sale have a total value of 1,648,890.53 euros, based on the technical studies carried out.
Within this sum, the 1,239,570.53 euros are valued at three premises, one of them measuring 995.6 square meters, another 483 and a third 489.
A further 210,000 euros correspond to a mezzanine floor for parking spaces, storage rooms and other uses, with a surface area of 560 meters.
The remaining 199,320 euros are the result of the valuation of 26 parking spaces.
Companies or individuals interested in acquiring these municipal assets have until May 26 to submit their proposals.
The specifications governing this procedure specify that the sale “is subject to the condition precedent of the property being vacated by the Town Hall, with the transfer of staff and furniture to the new Town Hall”.
According to official information, the municipal administration’s commitment to bring together in a single building the premises spread throughout the municipality, as well as the commitment made by the government team, on its arrival in 2011, to “improve the management and economic situation in which the town hall found itself, as previously serious and irreparable damage was being caused to suppliers due to accumulated delays in the payment of obligations that the town hall had contracted with them”.
Faced with this situation, Estepona presented an adjustment plan as part of the State’s plan to cover its debts to companies, which, among other things, indicated “the need to dispose of part of the municipal assets, particularly unused real estate”.
“In this general panorama, it seems reasonable to continue to reduce the burden on the Town Hall of maintaining a large number of heritage assets, as well as obtaining resources to comply with the approved adjustment plan,” the proposal states.
