Estepona organizes the 5th edition of EsteponGO!, the fair for manga, video games and alternative culture, on November 20 and 21.
The proceeds from this leisure event will be entirely donated to the Fundación Infancia Solidaria to operate in Spain on a minor with heart disease who does not have access to this type of surgery in his country.
The Municipal Councilor Delegate for Sports and Youth, José Antonio Bandera, and the representatives of the Evento GO company and the Fundación Infancia Solidaria, David Ferrer and Toni Camacho, respectively, today presented the fifth edition of EsteponGO !, the V Salón del Manga, Viodeojuegos y la Cultura Alternativa (fifth manga, viodejuegos and alternative culture fair).
This leisure event, which will take place on November 20 and 21, will this year be held in the municipal stand of Parque Ferial, the sports and leisure park.
The councilor in charge of sports and youth underlined the charitable nature of the event, since all the proceeds will go to the operation in Spain of a child suffering from a heart disease who does not have access to this type of intervention in his country of origin. This action will be possible thanks to the agreements that the NGO Infancia Solidaria has made with various Andalusian hospitals.
The councilor also expressed his satisfaction with the return of this event, so popular with young people, which could not take place last year due to the pandemic. Bandera pointed out that the facilities of the Caseta Municipal and its exteriors are being adapted to accommodate fans of this type of entertainment who will meet during the weekend.
According to the mayor, EsteponGO! has managed to consolidate itself as one of the benchmarks of geek leisure in Andalusia and one of the most important alternative culture fairs in the country.
For his part, David Ferrer León explained that, in addition to the charitable nature of this activity, another of the main objectives of this year is to return the pleasure to lovers of this type of alternative culture, following all the necessary sanitary measures.
In addition, there will be limited seating areas, access control and seated activities. The use of masks will be compulsory, hydroalcoholic gel will be made available to the public, cleaning will be carried out before and after each activity and individual equipment will be available for the events scheduled in the program.
For better control of activities and with the aim of maintaining social distancing, the space has been divided into different areas: commercial, craft and “Artist Alley”, workshops, activities, stages and gamer. This last area will in turn be divided into two modalities, the tournament, for which prior registration will be essential and which can only be accessed during participation in the tournament; and “freeplay”, access to which will be controlled and where visitors will be able to play freely depending on the availability of stands. Only two people will be admitted in each of them and they will be duly separated in order to respect social distancing.
Toni Camacho also indicated that during these two days, participants will be able to enjoy more than a hundred activities, including conferences on dubbing, with the participation of the famous dubbing artist and announcer David Sampalo, as well as exhibitions and activities related to the world of Harry Potter, Disney princesses and K-Pop competitions.
