The fire that broke out last Tuesday in the municipality of Pujerra, in the La Resinera area, has been stabilized.
This means a return to level 0, as Plan Infoca sources confirmed to Europa Press.
This means the gradual withdrawal of many of the resources deployed in the area, including troops from the Emergency Military Unit (UME).
It has also been confirmed that all the residents who were still being evacuated, i.e. those in Montemayor and Velerín Alto – some 74 people – can now return to their homes, the same sources said.
Last night, Plan Infoca’s operational and extinguishing management authorized the return of people evicted from Benahavís town center, as well as from the Benahavís Hill and Marbella Club urbanizations.
In all, some 2,000 people had to be evacuated due to the fire, which forest firefighters are still working to combat.
After a night and early morning of “hard work”, the fire was stabilized in an area manned by six airborne resources, eight fire trucks, the Unité d’analyse et de surveillance des feux de forêt (Unasif), the Unité mobile de météorologie et de transmissions (UMMT), the Unité médicale des feux de forêt (UMIF), 14 forest fire departments, two brigades, the COR director, two technical analysts, two supervisors and four environmental agents.
