Over the years, the Parador de Málaga , the oldest golf course in Andalusia has become a demanding course for the seasoned player and an accessible course for any golf enthusiast. Sand dunes, palm trees, mimosas, eucalyptus and pines line the course. Two holes run along the sea. Its facilities: -18 Holes Historic course (1925) -9 Links holes (no handicap required) -9 Pitch & Putt holes (no handicap required) -Area reserved for professionals and their groups.
Its beginnings date back to the early 1920s, linked to the British royal family, Princess Beatrice of Battenberg, who lived part of the year in the region and encouraged the construction of the club. In 1925 and under the technical direction of Harry Sephard Colt (the same who built the Wentworth Club).
Under the direction and design of the prestigious Tom Simpson. The course record is held by Miguel Angel Jimenez of Malaga with the 1999 PGA Turespaña Golf Masters.
The European PGA has chosen it as the venue for several of its tournaments, valid for the Professional Golf Tour, such as the – Tour España Master Open de Andalucia – (1992 and 1999) and – Open de Andalucía (2010 and 2011) – which is an acknowledgment of the quality standards required at the highest level of professional golf.
The Royal Spanish Golf Federation has chosen, over the years, the Parador de Málaga Golf course for the celebration of professional and amateur tournaments in Spain.
