The Costa del Sol will be home to two of the 30 shopping centers scheduled to open in Spain between 2023 and 2025.
These are the Estepona Park and Marbella Plaza complexes.
The latter will be located in the Bullring area, between the A-7 freeway and Alfonso XIII street, and will occupy a surface area of around 25,000 square meters near one of Marbella’s entrances.
It is estimated that the new shopping center will create over 500 jobs in the town.
Promoted by British companies Citygrove and Burlington, the complex will host high-profile commercial businesses, including major international companies coming to the Marbella coast for the first time.
The initial planned investment is 100 million euros.
International consultancy Savills Aguirre Newman will be responsible for marketing the project and its future management.
KPF will be responsible for the design of the project, which will be distinguished by its use of state-of-the-art materials and respect for the environment.
Estepona Park, an eco-efficient center Estepona Park will be Estepona’s first urban shopping park.
Its developer, Batex & Duplex, has confirmed that it will be an eco-efficient center, as it will feature photovoltaic solar panels on its roof, saving 30% on its electricity bill and significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
With an investment of almost 15 million euros, the complex will have a gross leasable area of 6,000 m2, and its opening will create 100 new jobs.
It will be located at the entrance to Estepona, on Avenida Juan Carlos I, next to the athletics stadium and the Felipe VI auditorium.
Batex & Duplex has already formalized contracts and commitments with some of the operators who will be present in the future shopping complex, which will include food stores, pet shops, sports stores, specialty stores, restaurants, leisure centers for children and young people and fitness centers.
Kiwoko, Sprinter, KFC, Primaprix and FlipaJump are just some of the franchises that have secured their presence at Estepona Park and will form part of its retail offering.
Estepona Park hopes to become an essential reference and meeting point for both the local resident consumer and the growing tourist public in the surrounding area.
This type of retail development is more resilient than other formats more affected by e-commerce.
