The gastronomic event welcomes 55 exhibitors and professional ham cutters from all over the country. The municipality of Estepona is once again hosting the “Popi” world ham competition, one of the largest tastings of Iberian products, to be held for the seventh time until August 15, from 7 pm to 2 am, on the Pedro Manrique Promenade.
The gastronomic event, which benefits from the collaboration of the Malaga Provincial Council’s agri-food promotion brand, Sabor a Malaga, will welcome 55 exhibitors and professional ham cutters from all over the country.
The gastronomic event, organized by ham cutter José María Téllez “Popi”, is a well-established fixture in the summer calendar that aims to help showcase the quality of the province’s meat products and place them among national reference brands and denominations, while also serving to promote other products such as Malaga wines and cheeses, which will also have exhibitors at the event.
As every year, ham dishes will be available for tasting at a price of 5 euros.
In addition to the main companies in the sector, the event, which is expected to attract 200,000 visitors, will once again feature free concerts to liven up and energize these gastronomic days, with performances by artists such as Rafa Cremades & TV Band, Compás Flamenco, Dani Márquez and Lázaro Cruz, Molasco, La Bomba, Ana Soto, Laura Gallego, Don del Puerto, José Fernández “El Pirata”, JDM Manuel de Jesús and Por Derecho, among others.
