July 7 marks the true kickoff of summer on the western Costa del Sol. Between the opening of the grand Estepona Feria, an international concert in Marbella, and the first summer veladas in Casares and Manilva, the week promises to be exceptional. Here is our selection of events not to be missed between Estepona, Marbella, Casares, and Manilva.
Estepona: the Feria y Fiestas Mayores opens today (July 7–12)
It is the highlight of the week: the Estepona Feria y Fiestas Mayores takes place from July 7 to 12, 2026. The official poster for this edition, "Cuando el mar baila" by artist Marta Bernad, merges a sunrise over the Mediterranean with the movement of a flamenco dress—a true symbol for this city between the sea and Andalusian tradition.
The feria lives at two rhythms:
- La feria de día: the historic center of Estepona, with its flower-filled streets, fills with music, dancing, and atmosphere in the bars and squares from midday.
- La feria de noche: the recinto ferial welcomes families and night owls with its casetas, attractions, and musical stages until the early hours.
On the festivities program: the crowning of the Feria Queen and her court, the traditional parade of giants and big-heads, the switching on of the fairground lights, Andalusian folklore shows, and live concerts every evening. Wednesday is traditionally dedicated to children with half-price attractions, and on Saturday afternoon, do not miss the magnificent parade of horse-drawn carriages. The detailed program is available from the Estepona Town Hall and on the official Andalusian tourism portal.
Marbella: Maroon 5 at Starlite Occident this July 7
Half an hour from Estepona, the legendary Starlite Occident festival is in full swing in the spectacular setting of the Nagüeles quarry, on the mountainside above Marbella. This Tuesday, July 7, the American group Maroon 5 takes to the Auditorio stage with all their pop-rock hits. Doors open at 8:00 PM, main concert at 10:00 PM.
And the week doesn't stop there. The July line-up is impressive:
- Thursday, July 9: Deep Purple, hard rock legends
- Friday, July 10: Rick Astley
- Saturday, July 11: Elvis Crespo and his Latin rhythms
- Monday, July 13: Jean-Michel Jarre, for a unique audiovisual show
- Tuesday, July 14: Anastacia
- Wednesday, July 15: Juan Luis Guerra 4.40
Tickets and full programming on the official Starlite website or via the Marbella tourist office.
Casares: summer veladas, medieval market, and night run
The perched white village of Casares is experiencing a particularly lively summer. Every Friday evening in July, the Jardines del Rosario amphitheater hosts free music, theater, and dance performances—an ideal opportunity to enjoy the cool village air at the end of the day.
This second week of July, Casares is also organizing its medieval market: artisans working with traditional techniques, a medieval tavern, falconry demonstrations, and storytelling shows in the village streets. Sports enthusiasts will also note the night run (Carrera Nocturna) on July 12, and the curious can participate in "Rutas con Historia," historical guided tours organized every Wednesday throughout the summer.
To remember for later in the month: the Secadero feria (July 17–20), the Casares Costa feria (July 24–27), and the grand Casares Pueblo feria (July 31 – August 3). Details on the Casares Town Hall website and in the local press such as Al Sol de la Costa.
Manilva: heading for the Virgen del Carmen and July festivities
In Manilva, the summer atmosphere builds throughout the month. The big event is approaching: on July 16, the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, will be celebrated with a moving procession by sea and land starting from the Castillo de la Duquesa, followed by a true popular festival. This will be followed by the Santa Ana festivities on July 26, patron saint of Manilva, with fairground attractions and concerts, then the Virgen de Fátima pilgrimage on July 27 near the famous Roman baths of La Hedionda.
And on full moon nights in July and August, do not miss the Fiesta de la Luna on Sabinillas beach: thousands of people dressed in white gather for a festive family evening facing the sea. Full program on the Manilva Town Hall website.
