Casares is one of the most beautiful villages in the province of Málaga, and is perched on a hill between the mountainous region of Ronda, the Costa del Sol and the Camp de Gibraltar. It was declared a historical site in 1978. The origins of Casares date back to Roman times, when Julius Caesar ordered its construction out of gratitude: he had healed himself by immersing himself in the Baths of Hedionda.
